Sony has announced the next evolution of its premium TV line-up with the introduction of the new BRAVIA 9 II and BRAVIA 7 II series, introducing True RGB display technology to its latest large-screen BRAVIA models for premium home cinema, media room and living space installations.
Both ranges bring together enhanced colour accuracy, increased brightness and improved contrast performance with Sony’s image processing expertise, giving installers a new option for projects where cinematic image quality needs to sit alongside practical large-screen installation requirements.

The key element of the new models is Sony’s RGB Backlight Master Drive Pro technology, which independently controls red, green and blue LEDs to create a wider colour volume and greater colour purity than conventional Mini LED displays. By generating colour directly at the light source, the new panels are capable of producing more accurate and vibrant images while maintaining impressive brightness levels and precise local dimming control.
For home cinema and premium media room projects, the significance is clear. Rather than relying on a white or blue LED backlight filtered into colour, True RGB technology gives the display more direct control over colour output from the backlight itself. The result is a more expansive colour performance, with the brightness and contrast control expected from Sony’s upper-tier BRAVIA models.

The flagship BRAVIA 9 II offers Sony’s most advanced implementation of True RGB technology to date. It is positioned for high-end installations where screen size, brightness, colour depth and black level performance are all critical parts of the brief. The range benefits from enhanced brightness, refined backlight control and Sony’s new anti-glare and reflection-reducing screen technology, helping to maintain image fidelity even in brighter living spaces.
For installers looking to bring premium RGB performance to a wider range of projects, the BRAVIA 7 II introduces the same core True RGB technology across a broader selection of screen sizes, including more compact options suitable for living rooms, media rooms and multi-room installations. Sony states that the series delivers significant improvements in colour reproduction, contrast and viewing angles compared with previous Mini LED generations.

Both series feature Sony’s Cognitive Processor XR and support key home cinema formats including Dolby Vision, Dolby Atmos and IMAX Enhanced. The TVs also integrate Acoustic Multi-Audio+ technology, helping align sound with on-screen action, while Voice Zoom 3 uses AI-based processing to improve dialogue clarity without affecting overall sound levels.
Sony has also enhanced viewing performance for larger rooms and wider seating arrangements. Technologies such as X-Wide Angle Pro and the latest panel design improvements help maintain colour consistency and contrast from off-axis viewing positions, which is particularly useful in open-plan spaces where every seat is not directly in front of the screen.

Screen size options span from 50in up to 115in across the two ranges, providing flexibility for projects of all sizes. The BRAVIA 7 II is available in sizes from 50in to 98in, while the BRAVIA 9 II extends up to 115in for ultra-large-screen installations.
