A select group of AWE customers were invited to an exclusive Sony event hosted at the iconic Pinewood Studios. Bringing together studio heritage and cutting-edge visual technology, the day offered a unique opportunity to explore Sony’s ecosystem – from content creation right through to viewing in the home.
Setting the Scene
The session opened with a welcome and overview from our Managing Director, Stuart Tickle, followed by the Sony team, who set the scene with updates across their current range and strategic direction. This set the context for a more detailed product range deep dive, where attendees explored the latest BRAVIA projector line-up and Pro BRAVIA displays, giving installers clear guidance on product positioning and how each solution can be applied across a range of installation scenarios.

From Lens to Living Room
The technical deep dive continued with a Video Production demonstration session, led by a Sony Digital Motion Picture Centre specialist. This session walked through the full workflow, from capture using Sony’s cinema cameras – including BURANO and VENICE – through to final display. Guests were also treated to a host of anecdotes from recent projects working with A-list film producers. For installers, this ‘lens to living room’ approach offered a clearer understanding of how content is created and how Sony maintains image integrity across the entire chain.
Stepping away from the presentation space, attendees were then given a guided tour of the Pinewood Studios grounds. This included a glimpse inside some of the stages and a look at sets currently in use – an experience that brought the earlier discussions to life and highlighted the real-world environments where this technology plays a critical role.

Technology in Application
After a relaxed lunch and the opportunity to network, the afternoon shifted focus to Sony’s virtual production LED capabilities and Crystal LED line-up. Now available for a residential setting, Sony Product Manager Satbir Panesar presented the range of totally scalable CLED solutions, and showed why it is not pixel pitch alone that determines quality and accuracy of image. This tied neatly into Sony’s Home Cinema and BRAVIA ranges, reinforcing how professional-grade technologies influence and enhance the residential viewing experience, particularly at the premium end of the market.
Overall, the day delivered a clear and consistent message. From camera lens capture, through to image processing and eventual display in a home, Sony offers a joined-up ecosystem that ensures consistency, quality and creative intent are maintained at every stage. For installers, this provides not only a compelling story to share with clients, but also a practical framework for delivering high-performance AV solutions.

Attendees shared overwhelming positive feedback following the event, highlighting both the experience and the value the day delivered. One guest commented that they “enjoyed the entire event and found it so helpful, with lots of learning to take back to clients to explain why Sony is the best choice.”
Another noted that “it was a great experience…it was good to get a glimpse behind the curtain to see what goes into making a movie,” adding that it was particularly valuable to see “the ingenuity Sony puts into their products to ensure they are at the cutting edge of what can be achieved.”
A big thank you to everyone who joined us on this insightful day. And of course, a special thanks to the Sony Professional Europe team for hosting and making the day so memorable.
