AWE Celebrates 90 Years with Kids’ Drawing Competition

As part of our 90^th anniversary celebrations in 2025, we’re launching a fantastic summer opportunity that looks to the future through the eyes of our next generation.

Our ‘Draw to the Future’ competition is open to children aged 7-11 of our industry friends, colleagues, and customers and is perfect for any budding young artist. With the opportunity to win big prizes for their school as well as a fun family activity, why would you not enter?

So, what’s the theme?

We’re asking children to imagine and draw their version of smart home technology 90 years from now, from futuristic kitchens and AI pets to self-building bedrooms and gravity-defying furniture. The only limit is their imagination!

“It’s a very exciting initiative to be running to commemorate our big 90^th milestone this year,” says Managing Director, Stuart Tickle. “At AWE we want to give back this year, and what better way to do that than getting involved with local schools and the wider industry? It’s a great opportunity to build relationships with the local community and inspire the next generation.”

Need a handy prompt of what smart home tech is? Think of voice-controlled lights, app-connected speakers, or state-of-the-art, immersive home cinema – now imagine what those might look like in nearly a century. The goal is to generate creativity whilst letting curiosity grow about how technology could shape our daily lives in the future. We are looking to inspire the next generation of tech innovators.

Who can enter? All children aged between 7-11
What to draw? Their vision of smart home technology in 90 years
Deadline: Tuesday 30^th September 2025
Winners announced: Friday 3^rd October 2025
How to submit? Email a photo or scan of each entry to awe@wildwoodplus.com with the subject line: ‘DRAW TO THE FUTURE COMP’

Each entry must include:

Child’s name
Age
School name
A short description of your idea/drawing

How do we say thank you?

There are brilliant prizes up for grabs for the most imaginative entries. The first-place winner will receive a £500 cash prize and certificate. Second and third place entries will each receive a fantastic art kit and certificate as well!

We’ll also be showcasing a selection of entries on AWE’s social media channels, including Instagram and LinkedIn, so it’s a chance for young artists to shine in front of a wide audience!

This competition is a fantastic way for families to get creative over the summer break. It sparks imaginative thinking, introduces children to technology in a fun way. It also gives you a unique chance to connect your work in the smart home industry with your children’s ideas about the future!
