AWE Smart Home Academy Wins At The CEDIA Awards 2012

AWE is delighted to announce that its three-day comprehensive Philips Dynalite training course has won the award for “Best Training Initiative by a Trade Supplier” at the CEDIA Awards 2012. The prestigious accolade was unveiled during a spectacular black-tie ceremony in the fittingly regal setting of the Great Hall at Hampton Court Palace on Friday 20^th April 2012.

The trophy for the Philips Dynalite training initiative was presented to AWE’s Managing Director, Stuart Tickle, by Channel 5’s The Gadget Show star, Pollyanna Woodward, in front of a sell-out audience of around 250 industry professionals.

“We are absolutely delighted to accept the CEDIA Award for Best Training Initiative by a Trade Supplier” explains Stuart. “We worked closely with Philips Dynalite to create a course which would offer installers an in depth theory and practical-based session, allowing many aspects of lighting control to be covered.

We’ve had great feedback from installers who have already attended the course, and expect that we will see more dealers signing up now that it has been recognised as a top class training initiative by CEDIA. Apparently it was by far the best, which is testament to the hard work put in by Craig and the team over the past year.”

The course is held at AWE’s training centre in Epsom and has already seen attendance including employees from CAI Vision, Clearsphere, Couture Digital, Webstract and Technophobe. Split into two parts, the “System Designer” is a one-day introductory training module, which covers the basic design of a lighting control system and thus provides installers with the tools needed to become confident designers using Philips Dynalite architecture. The second part of the course, which is entitled “Envision Project”, takes the installer or programmer through the commissioning process using Philips Dynalite’s improved software tool. Over 2 days, installers will learn how to configure each feature of the Philips Dynalite system to tailor a system to the requirements of each customer.
