AWE is expanding its Hisense laser projection range with two new 4K models designed for very different room layouts. The XR10 is available now and gives integrators a high-brightness option with wide optical placement flexibility. The PX4-PRO will follow soon, bringing the same large-screen approach to ultra-short-throw installations where the projector needs to sit close to the display wall.


XR10: 6,000 Lumens With Wide Optical Flexibility
The XR10 is built around an RGB triple-laser light source rated at 6,000 ANSI lumens. Hisense specifies 118% coverage of the BT.2020 colour gamut and colour accuracy of approximately Delta E 0.6, supported by a 17-element all-glass lens designed to maintain image clarity and consistency over time.
For installers, the optical system is the headline feature. A 0.84-2.0:1 throw ratio and 2.38x optical zoom provide considerably more positioning freedom than a fixed or limited-zoom design. Hisense also specifies lens shift of up to plus or minus 130% vertically and plus or minus 46% horizontally. This gives integrators scope to resolve installation geometry optically before considering electronic image correction, particularly in retrofit rooms or where ceiling position is constrained.
The projector supports image sizes from 65 inches to 300 inches. A six-blade dynamic iris delivers a specified 6,000:1 contrast ratio, rising to as much as 60,000:1 dynamic contrast. Hisense has also developed a liquid-cooling system to manage heat from the laser and imaging hardware, while the light source is rated for 25,000 hours.


Automatic Set-Up And Broad Format Support
Quad 8-megapixel cameras and a 3D time-of-flight sensor support automatic focus, screen fitting and obstacle avoidance. These tools can speed up initial positioning, while manual controls remain available for final installation and calibration.
The XR10 supports Dolby Vision, HDR10+, HDR10 and HLG, alongside Filmmaker Mode and IMAX Enhanced. Gaming support includes 4K at 60Hz and 2K at up to 240Hz, with the published specification listing input lag of 20ms or less. Two HDMI 2.1 inputs support ALLM, with eARC available on one input.
VIDAA U9 provides integrated streaming and smart functionality, with AirPlay 2, Wi-Fi 7, Bluetooth 5.4 and wired Ethernet included. A 2.1-channel audio system co-tuned with Devialet and Opéra de Paris adds a built-in subwoofer for projects where a separate audio system is not required.
PX4-PRO: Ultra-Short-Throw Projection Up To 200 Inches
Coming soon to AWE, the PX4-PRO is Hisense’s next-generation ultra-short-throw Laser Cinema model. Its 0.2:1 throw ratio allows the projector to sit close to the wall while producing images up to 200 inches, making it suited to media rooms and large-screen living spaces where a conventional ceiling-mounted position is not practical.
The LPU Digital Laser Engine 3.0 uses an RGB triple-laser module and a 0.47-inch DLP imaging device. Output is rated at 3,500 ANSI lumens, with Hisense specifying 118% BT.2020 colour coverage and Delta E of 0.9 or below.


More Control Over Dark Scenes
A seven-level adjustable iris and specialised lens coating help the PX4-PRO reach a specified contrast ratio of up to 6,500:1. Hisense’s CineBlack Pro system adds Dynamic Grayscale Technology and EBL processing, analysing each frame to improve shadow detail and give the installer more control over the balance between brightness and black level.
Picture support includes Dolby Vision and IMAX Enhanced, while AI 4K Upscaling applies noise reduction, HDR tone mapping and adaptive adjustments to clarity, colour and brightness. ChromaFix processing is designed to reduce colour fringing and the rainbow effect sometimes associated with single-chip DLP projection.
Gaming, Audio And Control
The PX4-PRO is FreeSync Premium certified and supports VRR, 2K at 240Hz and a claimed 1ms latency at 2K 240Hz. Active 3D is also supported at 2K resolution with compatible DLP-Link glasses.
Its integrated 4.0.2-channel, 66W audio system is tuned by Devialet and supports Dolby Atmos. Hi-Concerto can synchronise the projector with selected Hisense audio products, while VIDAA OS provides direct access to major streaming services.
For integration, the PX4-PRO is Control4 certified. Automatic screen alignment is available for screens up to 120 inches, although precise physical positioning remains the preferred starting point for a professionally installed ultra-short-throw system.


Two Projectors For Different Installation Requirements
The two models extend the Hisense range in complementary directions. The XR10 prioritises brightness, optical zoom and lens shift for installations that need a flexible projector position. The PX4-PRO is designed for rooms where the display must sit close to the wall and operate as part of the living space.
