Marantz has expanded its AV separates portfolio with the introduction of the new AV30 AV processor and AMP30 power amplifier, completing a flexible, multi-tier range designed to support everything from compact cinema rooms through to full reference-grade immersive installations.
Filmed at AWE, a new AWE video explores how the full Marantz AV Separates family – including AV10, AV20 and AV30 processors, plus AMP10, AMP20 and AMP30 amplifiers – can be specified to meet the demands of modern home cinema projects.
Three AV Processors – One Design Philosophy
The range is built around three AV processors, each designed to support different system scales.
Across AV10, AV20 and AV30, installers will find support for Dolby Atmos, DTS:X, IMAX Enhanced and Auro-3D decoding, alongside seven HDMI inputs with 8K capability, including 4K-120 gaming and ARC or eARC on the main output. HEOS streaming is built in, with Roon Ready and Qobuz integration for music systems.
Room correction is handled via Audyssey MultEQ XT32 as standard, with optional Dirac Live upgrades including Dirac Active Room Treatment (ART) for projects requiring more advanced low-frequency control.
Where the models differ is channel count. AV30 processes up to 11.4 channels, AV20 extends this to 13.4, while AV10 supports up to 15.4 channels for the most ambitious immersive layouts.
Built in Japan for Marantz’s Flagship Range
Moving up the range brings progressively more substantial internal construction, including copper-plated chassis layers for improved grounding, toroidal power transformers with oxygen-free copper windings, advanced HDAM modules, and multi-layer internal structures designed to minimise vibration and electrical interference.
All of the Marantz AV Separates are built at the company’s Shirakawa Audio Works facility in Japan, where its premium components are assembled and tuned for demanding home cinema environments.

Power Amplifiers to Match Any System Scale
Complementing the processors are three multi-channel power amplifiers.
The 16-channel AMP10, 12-channel AMP20 and new 6-channel AMP30 all deliver 200 watts per channel into 8 ohms and support bridging in BTL mode to provide up to 400 watts per channel for higher-demand systems.
This architecture allows installers to specify precisely to room size, speaker sensitivity and performance targets. A single AMP30 can power up to six channels in a smaller cinema, while multiple AMP10s can be deployed in larger rooms to provide consistent headroom across extensive immersive layouts.
Crucially, the amplifiers can also be added to existing AVR-based systems using pre-outs, offering a straightforward upgrade path for clients who want to increase power without replacing their processor.
Balanced XLR for Noise-Free Integration
All Marantz AV processors and power amplifiers in the range feature balanced XLR connections, making them well suited to rack-based.
Using balanced interconnects between processor and amplifier helps reduce susceptibility to noise and interference, particularly in equipment rooms housing multiple power supplies, control processors and network devices.
Combined with full trigger and RS232 connectivity and IP control, the platform integrates cleanly into professionally controlled cinema systems.

Designing to Industry Standards
In AWE’s Performance Cinema, the new AV30 has been paired with both an AMP10 and AMP30 to deliver 400 watts per channel across a full 7.4.4 speaker layout, ensuring the system is capable of delivering high SPL cleanly at the listening position, with sufficient amplifier headroom to handle dynamic peaks without strain.
The video also demonstrates how listening-position calculations can be used to check amplifier choice during the design phase, helping installers confirm that proposed systems will meet performance targets once installed.
Reference Systems and Ultimate Flexibility
In AWE’s Reference Cinema, the scale increases further, with 15.4 channels driven by an AV10 processor and multiple AMP10 amplifiers configured to provide consistent power delivery across every speaker.
The Marantz AV Separates platform allows projects to scale from a simple 5.1 installation through to full multi-row immersive home cinemas, with integrators able to mix amplifier models, bridge selected channels for higher-output, or distribute power evenly across surround and height arrays.

Watch the Video and Book a Demo
The full AWE video walks through real-world system examples, rear-panel connections on the AV30 and AMP30, and the reasoning behind amplifier selection in different room sizes.
UK dealers interested in specifying Marantz AV Separates for upcoming projects are encouraged to watch the video and contact their AWE representative to arrange a demonstration in AWE’s cinema facilities.
