Denon has unveiled two new additions to its X-Series AV receiver range, introducing the AVR-X2900HDAB and AVR-X3900H for enthusiasts and custom installation projects demanding greater performance, advanced room correction options and increased system flexibility.
Positioned above Denon’s more mainstream AVR-S Series models, the launch reflects growing demand for receivers capable of supporting more sophisticated speaker layouts, multiple subwoofer configurations and advanced calibration platforms such as Dirac Live.
Both models have been developed at Denon’s Shirakawa Audio Works facility in Japan and feature updated internal components alongside a 32-bit multi-channel DAC architecture designed to improve imaging, detail retrieval and low-frequency control across every channel.

Designed for Enthusiasts & Custom Installation
Denon continues its dual-calibration approach with support for both Audyssey and optional Dirac Live upgrades, giving installers and end users the freedom to choose the room optimisation tools best suited to the installation.
Audyssey remains included as standard, offering fast and accessible calibration, while optional Dirac Live compatibility allows for more advanced system tuning as installations become more complex. On the AVR-X3900H, users can also access optional Dirac Bass Control and Active Room Treatment (ART), providing additional flexibility for dedicated cinema rooms and high-performance projects.
The two new AVRs have also been designed with integration in mind, incorporating IP-based Web UI setup, advanced HDMI diagnostics and expanded control interfaces to support efficient installation and ongoing system optimisation.
Denon AVR-X2900HDAB Overview

The model is designed to provide a balance between higher performance and straightforward day-to-day usability, making it suitable for living room cinema systems and mid-tier dedicated rooms.

Denon AVR-X3900H Overview
The AVR-X3900H targets larger and more demanding installations where expanded processing, multiple subwoofers and deeper system tuning are priorities.
Key Specifications:
- 9.4-channel amplification
- 11.4-channel processing
- 105W per channel
- Four independent subwoofer outputs
- Dirac Live Room Correction support
- Optional Dirac Bass Control and Active Room Treatment (ART)

The addition of four independent subwoofer outputs will be particularly relevant for dedicated cinema projects where improved bass distribution and room consistency are required.
HEOS Delivers Whole-Home Audio Flexibility
Both AVRs feature built-in HEOS, allowing them to integrate into wider multiroom audio systems across the home. Users can stream music from platforms including Spotify, Qobuz and TuneIn Internet Radio, while also supporting Bluetooth and Apple AirPlay 2 connectivity.
The platform allows multiple rooms to be grouped together or operated independently through a single app, giving homeowners a more flexible entertainment experience while offering integrators an open ecosystem that can be adapted to a wide variety of projects without locking customers into a closed platform.

Wireless Surround Capability Coming Via Firmware Update
Denon has also confirmed future support for wireless surround operation using Denon Home 200, 400 and 600 speakers as rear surround channels.
The functionality will be introduced via a future firmware update after launch and is intended to help accommodate installations where running rear speaker cabling may not be practical.
The Denon AVR-X2900HDAB and AVR-X3900H are expected to be available from June 2026. For more information on the Denon X-Series AVRs, pricing and availability, contact the AWE sales team.
