Cosy Cinema Selects Epson Projectors for Multi-Site Expansion

Cosy Cinema is an intriguing start-up founded in Wales in 2022, with a mission ‘to create happy moments, in a nutshell.’

The business has already made headlines following an appearance by its founders on Dragon’s Den earlier this year and has clocked up over 5.7 million views on TikTok. Currently taking Wales by storm, the Cosy Cinema portfolio includes three pods located in Dinas Powys (where Cosy Cinema was founded), another six in Cardiff, and 15 recently launched in Newport. The company has big expansion plans, with further sites set to launch across the UK soon.

The unique concept sees specially designed ‘blackout pods’ become individual cinema rooms, each including a 93” screen, ceiling mounted projector, all the streaming apps you need, as well as a comfy king-sized bed. The pods can be hired for three hours, six hours, or as an overnight experience where visitors can enjoy the latest movies, hours of gaming, catching the latest sporting event, or binge-watching their favourite box sets.

For a truly exceptional experience, each pod is equipped with an Epson EH-TW9400 projector, sourced from AWE. When selecting technology for the pods, a key criteria was that the picture quality had to be excellent, as this is an integral part of the cinema experience. Space was also a consideration as the pods are compact, as well as budget.

The Epson EH-TW9400 is a 4K PRO-UHD projector that boasts sharp, vivid picture quality and a wide range of impressive features for a modest price-point of under £2,500.

For Cosy Cinema customers even the fastest action scenes are sharp and smooth thanks to frame interpolation and Detail Enhancement. The EH-TW9400 delivers exceptionally high-quality images with up to 1,200,000:1 dynamic contrast ratio, 4K-enhanced technology, 3LCD technology, full HD, UHD BD and HDR support. Each pixel is shifted diagonally by 0.5 pixels to double the vertical and horizontal resolution, and motorised optics and calibration tools mean it’s easy to achieve an accurate display for every content format.
