As the stock, training and support hub for URC in EMEA, AWE worked alongside URC to wow visitors to ISE 2018 with demonstrations of URC’s newly upgraded flagship control solution, Total Control 2.0, as well as MX HomePro, Z-wave® integration and the launch of the Kaleidescape 2-way Chowmain module.
“We experienced a surge in footfall on the URC booth at ISE 2018,” says Stuart Tickle, AWE’s Managing Director. “Visitors came in large numbers to see Total Control 2.0 and experience how the huge upgrades to this new automation platform, now with Z-Wave compatibility, can make in delivering a flexible, attractive and high-performance installation.
“Building on this momentum our sales director, Paul Mott, will take focus on the next phase of URC’s UK expansion, which will include enhanced sales support, more countrywide training and an increase in opportunities for installers to engage with URC. We can also confirm that URC is increasing its footprint at ISE 2019 to showcase more that the brand can offer and as a sign of its deepening commitment to the international markets. AWE is fully focussed on growing with URC, a brand that shares our values, helping installers provide fantastic, reliable and easy to use integration solutions for their customers”.
Total Control 2.0
Visitors to ISE had the opportunity to experience the new Total Control 2.0 home automation system from URC, which provides greater flexibility, a highly attractive customisable aesthetic, and high-performance operation. Featuring a full graphical update, a new user interface and advanced logic, Total Control 2.0 enables integrators to put homeowners in charge of their home with a seamless, intuitive and versatile solution.
Total Control 2.0 also boasts much faster speeds for both integrators and end users, with downloading to the system, loading new programming, and response time all vastly improved. Integrators can also make adjustments and edits much more quickly and simply, and pollinate across different control devices in the house with ease.
The new Accelerator 2.0 software features advanced logic, enabling integrators to incorporate if”, “and”, “then”, and “or” commands. This allows the system to become more in tune with the life of the homeowner, with in-built commands increasing the autonomous tasks completed by Total Control 2.0.
At ISE, URC announced the launch of a free demo app for Total Control 2.0, demonstrating the benefits of the system when controlling entertainment, music, lighting and more. The app is available for iOS and Android devices.
MX HomePro
Simple, reliable and powerful, the URC MX HomePro is a cloud-based smart home control system that is a great starting point for integrators looking for single room control. The MX HomePro, which incorporates a smart hub, remote control, and mobile app, benefits from a simple installation process. This range fills a gap in the market for an affordable, yet professionally installed solution.
The URC MX HomePro offers users one-touch control of home entertainment and IoT devices including lighting, thermostats, security cameras, and Z-Wave® products. The compact H500 smart hub and remote control, which features a two-inch colour LCD screen, connect via Wi-Fi or Ethernet. The free to download MX HomePro App offers on-touch system control at home or on the go, and can control multiple locations from a single smart device.
As demonstrated at ISE, this system is extremely easy to programme and monitor. The MX HomePro offers dealers simple, web-based programming via PC, Mac or mobile, and allows for servicing to be managed remotely.
Z-Wave® Gateway
Total Control 2.0 and MX HomePro are both compatible the new Z-Wave® gateway. The gateway expands the system control for Z-Wave® based products, such as lighting, motorised shades, and security devices, providing two-way control. End user portals can be set up to integrate products and create Z-Wave® scenes.
New Kaleidescape 2-way Module by Chowmain
In an exciting development, URC has partnered with Chowmain, a software development company based in New Zealand and Australia to develop URC modules to further enhance smart home projects. URC now benefits from Kaleidescape 2-way Chowmain-developed modules, helping integrators to further enhance residential projects. This launch provides unprecedented access to films and audio through the Kaleidescape system.
Focussing on AV and lighting, Chowmain has created modules for Sky+ HD and Sky Q set top boxes, Oppo Blu-ray players, and Belkin WeMo. An IFTTT module allows integrators to add Amazon Echo, push notifications, messaging, phone calls, Tesla, BMW, other connected cars, Twitter, emails, facial recognition, geofencing / location and so much more to URC.
URC Total Control 2.0 compartmentalises all two-way modules so that they run independently of each other, increasing the overall speed and stability of the system.
As the International Hub for URC control solutions, AWE provides exclusive access to URC home automation systems, and showcases these year-round in its Smart Apartment in Epson, so for those integrators who were unable to attend ISE 2018, a visit to AWE’s HQ is a must.
