UK CI distributor and home cinema experts AWE take a look at the latest TV screens from Sony set to take the market by storm in 2019, designed to suit any home cinema project and budget.

AG9

Joining Sony’s flagship MASTER Series is the impressive AG9 4K HDR OLED TV, which features the latest generation Picture Processor X1™ Ultimate for accurate detail and contrast when watching the latest blockbuster movies.

Available in 77”, 65”, and 55” screen sizes, the display comes to life with the super-wide viewing angle, precise contrast and absolute blacks. For the ultimate in picture quality, the AG9 pairs the brilliance of 4K clarity with the brightness, colour, and detail of High Dynamic Range (HDR). Previously hidden areas of dark shadow and sunlight are now full of clarity and detail.

Acoustic Surface Audio+ provides an immersive sound experience with the sound coming from the entire screen, providing pictures and sound in perfect harmony. In addition, a TV Centre Speaker Mode allows homeowners to use the TV as the centre speaker in a home cinema setup.

Its slim form factor also means that the AG9 can be mounted close to the wall, fitting seamlessly into any interior.

ZG9

Making headlines this year is the new Sony 8K Master Series ZG9 model, available in impressive 85” and 98” options. This 8K HDR TV screen delivers a more immersive viewing experience with extra resolution, creating the ultimate super-large screen experience in the home. The result is a display that looks incredibly clear up close with virtually no pixel differentiation.

The powerful Picture Processor X1 Ultimate built into the screen enables the newly developed 8K X-Reality PRO to up-scale any content closer to true 8K picture quality using a new, dedicated 8K database. Other new dedicated 8K technologies have been developed for the ZG9 series, including Backlight Master Drive with full-array local dimming and 8K X-tended Dynamic Range PRO to boost brightness for clear, crisp images. and unprecedented contrast.

X-Wide Angle ensures the picture retains its quality and true colours, regardless of the viewing angle, whilst X-Motion Clarity minimises motion blur without sacrificing screen brightness.

XG95

As a Full Array LED TV, the XG95 delivers cinematic contrast and brightness for more accurate detail and depth, thanks to multiple zones of LEDs positioned directly behind the screen. Combined with Sony’s precise local dimming technology X-tended Dynamic Range PRO™, the XG95 can independently dim or brighten individual zones for greatly enhanced contrast and brightness.

Running on the powerful Picture Processor X1™ Ultimate, the XG95 provides a top-end 4K HDR viewing experience with a virtually unmatched level of detail and clarity. Also, the Object-based HDR remaster allows each object to be remastered individually for better depth, accurate texture and all-in-all more realistic picture.

For even more immersive viewing, the XG95 series features two sound positioning tweeters in the rear of the TV, which combine with the existing audio system to recreate sound coming from the centre of the screen, precisely matching pictures with audio.
